Black Ink Project Review (website)
(Written starting June 22 2008)
I
am just beginning my review of
The Black
Ink Project. This is the next level of
Jeremy Palmer's efforts to
bring more affiliates online (and build a small second tier income for
himself too).
I have to admit, I am a fan. Although his first ebook "Quit Your Day Job" wasn't particularity helpful at $49.95 I did purchase a copy in the hopes of learning something I didn't already understand or have an idea about. Unfortunately the community forum that was to back up the information needed to make the ebook successful just didn't appear. I spoke with Jeremy about this but because the ebook did have some value I did not take him up on his offer of a refund. (really, if the guy has over a $million dollars a year in revenue from affiliate programs there has to be some tidbits of information laying around just waiting to be picked up. That didn't happen.
The Quit Your Day Job forum lost it's luster and, since maybe 5 % of people that purchased his ebook actually did form the community, there were a lot more questions than answers. My own interest died rather quickly and with other more pressing business came between me and the time that was possible to spend at the forum.
Well, now that I have signed up for The The Black Ink Project I will be posting my review of it here, as I go through each stage.
I want you to join too, the program is free and you can get a free copy of the ebook that cost me $50.00) you'll find me more on the forums these days. Heck summer is here, and my choices are: lay in the backyard, go to the beach, or enhance my pasty computer screen white pallor and spend just a couple more hours a week earning some money by finding the tips, tricks and strategies that I am unfamiliar with.
Look for me here: The Black Ink Project and watch for my nickname on the forums "robrob8"
Let's make some $$$
July 1 2008 - Day 3 and Day 4 Sessions
There was a break in my online time for a family emergency. But I have not forgotten about you, my dear marketer. These two sessions cover creating your business plan by going in-depth into the research Jeremy uses to find his niche, research competitors and products. Joining forums based on the content and product that will be the central item for your website and researching keywords to target your particular niche audience. Very involved but if you want to make your affiliate sales work, this is the plan you need to have!
And in session 4 Jeremy goes into getting to understanding your audience. Have you purchased the product/service you are promoting? Have you set yourself up to become an "expert" in your particular product field? More in-depth suggestion sand paths for you to follow.
These two sessions work very well the the first two sessions. Follow one at a time and you'll be on your way to affiliate mastery.
June 25 2008 - Day 1 and Day 2 Sessions
I've watched and listed to "Day 1" and "Day 2" of The Black Ink Project so far (today) and have to say that it's informative if you're a newbie to internet marketing. I do appreciate that it's the first time a lot of people will hear what is being discussed so I can't shoot it down so far. The Black Ink Project is free and it is presented from some of the best successful online marketers but time is money so if you make already even minimum wage then it's up to you if it's time well spent. If you have a job already and want to make some extra cash with your own website you'll have a good head start by joining this. But be warned... at the beginning you are learning about the basics of what it takes to be successful... it's not all happy days in the hammock... not at the start anyways and not if you want long term success either!
The WMV files download and play well. The Power Point files and the PDF are really unnecessary unless you need something else other than the movie file to see the progression of the presentation. I didn't use them because they displayed the same information slides as the WMV files and they are an unnecessary download... now I've learned. There are some good files in the PDF though... you might want to print out some of the pages to make your notes, answer questions about your knowledge and goals.
I really like the Question & Answer talks at the end of each presentation because you get to hear some "off the cuff" real world questions usually from people that have a website and now want to see some commission checks coming their way. Usually the Q & A lasts at least as long as the presentation, so be prepared for 80 minutes or so for each day (segment) in total.
There isn't any great door opening or new dawn light shining for me so far. And I hope that this isn't all "Google Adsense" orientated. I understand that if you sell something for two dollars and make a dollar you're way ahead of the game. But not too many people want to gamble right off the bat with a new way to make money (MLM anybody?) and their only few dollars in their pocket. We will see where this Black Ink Project takes us.
I hope to keep this updated on a daily basis, but darn-it-all, the wife wants some of my time too. I'll date each addition here so you can see where I am.
So far, I have listened to day 1 and day 2... this is a worthwhile time expense. Join now and start downloading. I'll let you know how it goes later on.
July 9 2008: As I tried to wrap up my review of Black Ink Project life happened and I was away from my websites for several days. Needless to day, the rest of the reviews won't be available any time soon.
To sum up The Black Ink Project: This is a great way for a newbie with a couple of hundred dollars in his pocket to understand the intricacies of affiliate website creation and structure to create a web site that sells easily and is directed to completing the customer click into the shopping cart to complete the sale/lead and earn your commission. If you have the time (19 sessions ) about 2 to 4 weeks of sessions to watch and examples to follow, this is something you should seriously consider doing.July 9 (continued):
But I have good news! Monday July 7 was the first day of Black Ink 2 Project. I am following Jeremy along in building a workable affiliate site with a single product to sell.
Day 1: Testing The Niche. In great detail Jeremy showed how he investigates the possibilities and the competition for his PPC (Pay Per Click) campaigns against competitors as he creates from new, a website featuring the WebEx online meeting software solution. This website and campaign he builds as Black Ink 2 participants watch and follow along, is geared towards a single website selling a single product. Advertising and web presence in this product arena is stiff, but not too overwhelming as other affiliate competition is apparent at this stage but not too well setup. I really appreciate the methods used to investigate keywords, the possibilities of bidding on PPC search engines and how he used tracking information to keep on top of all the information he creates and needs to manage this website project. Day 1 is a successful presentation.
